FROM FULL DISCLOSURE ARCHIVES:
Los Angeles, CA. -- According to Craig Holman, of the Center for Governmental Studies and retired California Senator Dick Mountjoy (R.-Monrovia) “for profit” slate card campaign mailers are deceiving voters with phony endorsements that have been bought and paid for by the very people purportedly endorsed.
In this part one of a two part debate on the Full Disclosure cable and internet TV program, Holman and Mountjoy take on UCLA Professor of Law Daniel Lowenstein who defended the mailers and filed a lawsuit on their behalf to void legal disclosure requirements. Weighing in against the mailers Senator Dick Mountjoy alleged that his 1998 campaign was adversely impacted by the questionable slate cards.
This part one of the debate moderated by Leslie Dutton on the Emmy Award winning Full Disclosure was originally videotaped in 1998 and is set to air world-wide on the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week starting on Monday, October 18, 2004 on the website at http://www.fulldisclosure.net
