Los Angeles, CA — The history of immigration enforcement policies and the struggle between the LAPD, County Sheriffs and Federal government over the past twelve years is set forth in a series of two programs featuring top law enforcement officials. Also, offering comments on developments since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and local law enforcement policies, is former Assistant Chief David Gascon, who reviews the current predicament facing many U. S. cities.
Following a video presentation of clips from previous Full Disclosure interviews with former LAPD Chiefs, Police Commission Presidents, L. A. County Sheriffs Block and Baca and INS District Director Richard K Rogers, Gascon offered his comments on the need to review the LAPD Special order 40 which has prohibited police officers from identifying illegal aliens in Los Angeles for the past 25 years.
In this Part 1 of a 2 part program with Emmy Awarding winning host Leslie Dutton, Gascon said that local law enforcement is frustrated because deported criminal aliens are returning time and again due to the U.S. Mexican Border being so porous.
Full Disclosure interviews over the past twelve years have documented the frustration and confusion of local law enforcement and District INS officials who often complained of lack of cooperation and lack of funding as the reasons why U.S. immigration laws were not effective.
This part one of the program is set to air world-wide on the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week starting on Monday, October 25, 2004 on the website at http://www.fulldisclosure.net
